I need to find a road bike for my son who is about 5 feet and I don't know what frame size he should get.? |
I am getting him a GMC Yukon bike Depends on how he's built. The top bar of the bike should sit one to three inches below his crotch. Take him to your local bike store when you buy the bike and the staff there will help you with proper fit and safety gear. If you are also in the United States, you have a local bike/ped coordinator who will probably be able to provide you with lit about proper fit. Source(s): Visit bikeforums.net its not necessarily the height , so people have longer legs. bikes are sold by frame sizes. he should be able to stand comfortably with the bike between his legs...you need to know the distance from his crotch to the floor. Go to your local bike shop and get fitted. It is worth the extra time and effort! And rethink the GMC bike... it is just another mass produced bike that will cost you more to repair and maintain than a better bike. http://www.specialized.com I'm with uncleneal on this one. If you insist on DIY, look at this webpage: http://www.coloradocyclist.com/bikefit/... |
