How do i weather proof my road bike?

i ride about 20 miles a day commuting and apparently summer in jersey means rain. im tired of not being able to ride but i dont want to tear up my bike.

as far as some general tips, make sure your bolts, chain are oiled. take em out and apply a small drop, this will deter rusting.

same goes for shoe clips.

you can dry off your bike, possibly add fenders and the like. this will stop most of the problems.
You can't. You'll have to wipe it down after each ride to prevent water damage.
Is your bike steel or another material? Very important in answering this question.
I have a litespeed road bike, and have used sks fenders on it for rain. they go on and off easily and don't mark up the frame. I added extenders to the sks fenders by cutting an old water bottle in half and zip tying that to the end of the fender. This helps a lot to keep road crud off of the drive train. After a rain ride, gently hose down the whole bike with a clean spray of water..wipe down frame, and wipe down and re-lube chain with something quick...I like the spray can of white lightning for that. Leave it inside when it rains, snows, sleets, floods.
