What is the best brand of a road bike to get? |
Looking to get a good bike for local pavement ...Thanks Dude, you simply have to try a Pinarello. Just look how many times someone on a Pinarello has won the Tour De France. 'Nuff said. There are many great road bikes out there. It's all about what you like, what feels good to you. Go test ride several different bikes - aluminum framed, titanium, carbon fiber. Don't go by brand. This is a very hard question to answer. I'm assuming you simply want to do local easy rides, sub 100km, no racing, maybe some commuting. Based on those facts, you want something along the lines of a Specialized Allez Sport. Shimano Tiagra components, full aluminum frame, carbon fork, aluminum bars and stem, aluminum or carbon seatpost (likely aluminum). Keep those stats in mind and you should be set. Shimano Tiagra can be substituted with Campagnolo Mirage as well, if you like the Italian style. You looking to spend $69 or $6900? Decide what you want to spend and what you really want it for then you can think of what brand and model. Brand isn't the thing - it's what you want at a certain price point. You would probably want to go with a bike that has gyro,i've had many bikes and it don't matter about the kind of bike it matters about the ride, it depends if he/she is comfortable on there own bike. what is your budget? 800 or 8000? Giant, Trek, KHS, and Specialized all have great bikes in many different price ranges if you are looking for a good "entry level" road bike, check out the KHS Flite series or the Specialized Allez, or the Giant OCR's all are between 600 and 1000 bucks but remember to add more for pedals, shoes, and helmet if you want to spend a lot of money, one of my dream bikes is the Specialized Tarmac SL, with full SRAM Force, msrp around $7,000, or a Colnago C-50 will full Campy Record (around $ 8,000), or how about an Orbea Orca?
