Road Bike Purchase? |
I have narrowed it down to these 3, which would you buy? Felt Racing F85 http://bigshark.com/itemdetails.cfm?cata... Raleigh Grand Prix http://bigshark.com/itemdetails.cfm?cata... Bianchi Imola http://bigshark.com/itemdetails.cfm?cata... Please help me decide :) First remember that the bike is more than just the frame. The groupo set is equally important. The Felt and the Bianchi both come with the Shimano 105. This is Shimano's entry level racing group, and it's a good one. I would stay away from the Raleigh for the reasons already mentioned. Both the Felt and the Bianchi also come with a carbon front fork. I like the compact 20 on the Felt. I'm not a big fan of a triple. To me it's just more weight for gears that are rarely used. I'd go with the Felt. GAWD you picked a pretty close call didnt you?? I like Bianchi but the triple might irritate you after a while !(good for beginners though) with plenty of gears to play with! Raleigh is enjoying an upsurge inpopularity paticularly after Nicole Cooks success riding them. Personally I would sway toward the FELT ,I cant give give you a difinitive reason 'cos it's just personal preferrance. You asked my opinion and you got it, Felt. Best of luck, with whatever you chose mate. P.S. I've just noticed from your link that the Felt has compact gearing, I'm a big fan of compact, I ride a compact chainset myself (despite the snide remarks) but I climbs hills faster and I can keep pace on the straight. So my answer still stands. Felt. I agree the Felt is the best of the 3. They are all decent bikes, but the Felt is going to be the quickest and probably the best built. I've had bad luck with Raleigh, they just aren't built that well at the factory (I work at a Raleigh dealer). The Bianchi is nice, but it's just a little too "beginner" for me. The Felt would be a great bike for a beginner or an experienced racer in my opinion. the Felt and Bianchi are both excellent brands stay away from Raleigh (their quality has diminished since they bought Diamondback) Go with the Felt, more eye catching and red happens to be my favorite bike color. id go with the felt. i curently ride a raleigh and while it has served me well i am planing an up grade to a felt. good luck |
