Really, no it depends.
Road bike would be fun. I would get the hybrid though. Hard to ride a bike in the rain or snow.Are you planning on doing any road racing or high-speed training for other events? If so, the road bike is definitely your best choice.
Otherwise, I would go with the hybrid. It will give you more versatility as to where you can ride, as you never know when an opportunity to go off road will come up, such as a park trail or somewhere else a road bike wouldn't be able to handle.
I would pick a road bike since it is quicker and can be applied to more situations in converting it to a racing bike, touring, or commuter
