Which road bike would you buy?

Cannondale Six13 or Pinarello Paris Carbon? Which one can perform better?

I know this is beyond the question, but why would you spend that kind of money on a production bike?

There are many builders out there that will measure you, build a frame to your precise needs, and equip it to match your riding style (right down to your preferred paint scheme) for less than these bikes.

Although I have a relatively large collection of bikes, my favorite is a Bob Jackson Arrowhead 853. It cost me far less than either bike you are talking about and it was built just for me.

As far as performance, I can do a century in 4:40:xx on a good day and a 10 mile time trial in xx:26:14.

Just a thought. Source(s): 27 years in the industry
I am 6'5" and got a bike custom made to measure, I love it and would recommend it to anyone. Got mine built at http://www.truenorthcycles.com/...
and yes, thats a plug but the service and staff were great and I always support good people.
I don't know much about road bikes, but my good friend rides an Abici, and he loves it, and won't ever buy anything else.
I would get the Pinarello. Mostly because everyone around here rides Trek and C'dales. I just got a Look 555 and love it. It rides just as nice as my old steel bicycle and weighs around 17 lbs.
I have a Six13 and it's awesome. I haven't been on a Paris Carbon, so I can't comment. Ideally, ride both and decide which feels best to you, instead of relying on others' opinions. Not everyone likes the same things, and certainly not everyone needs the same fit.

Which can perform better? They're both at the top of the heap, so there isn't a measurable "performance" difference. Again it has more to do with how you interact with the bike, than the bike itself.

You may also want to consider warranty. Cannondale has a lifetime warranty, is based in the US, and has dealers everywhere who can help you. I'm not sure about Pinarello, but most European makers have a warranty of just a few years. Also, I've seen claims take months since the frame has to be shipped overseas. Doesn't seem like a big deal till you're without a bike for most of the season...
If you have no experience with top end road bikes, it's not going to make a whole lot of difference. Ypu should buy what your gut likes better.

If you can ride either one--ideally both--it will give weight to your decision. I.E.- you'll probably like the way one handles compared to the other. Lots of top-end bikes handle like garbage, depends on the rider and the size of the bike.
