What size road bike? I'm 6'5"; 37+" inseam.? Probably at least 62cm. Best to go to your local bike shop and get properly fitted. The largest stock size for a Trek 1600 is 63cm. Not sure if other manufacturers have larger sizes. A custom frame would be big bucks, though. Perhaps an extra long seat post would help if no frames are large enough. All bikes fit differently, so I would get fitted at a shop. As a general (only general) rule of thumb, when you stand over the toptube on a road bike, you want about 1'' clearance between you and the bike. I would guess at a 63 cm frame. There are many sizing charts available on the web to help. This site will give you all you need to know to size a bike - not just the frame size: http://www.cbss.ca/Custom.htm Here is another really good one: http://www.coloradocyclist.com/bikefit/i... Here are two rules to help. 1. 0.67 x inseam lenght. 2. 27-28 cm less than inseam length (probably better for those over 6') Nothing beats getting fitted though... they'll help with everything from stem to seat position and of course frame size. work in a bike shop 20 or 22 |
