What the best road bike i could get for under $250? |
What the best road bike i could get for under $250? a really old used bike with worn down componets save up more money and check at that price point id be searching the used market. the best ive found new starts a t 450. i have heard that iron hrse does some stuff at the 300 point. check craigs list. if you have to have new. ithink bikes direct on ebay has some stuff. you get what you payfore and at that point it wont be much. a plastic one...you definitely have to spend more than 250 to get a bike that is worth riding if youre short on cash try a fixie...one gear will save you money fuji makes a "sport" line that has some less expensive road bikes and fixies. check out their website http://www.fujibikes.com/2007/road.asp?s... The least expensive good road bike I can find.... http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/wind... at wal mart for $150 you can get a Kent GMC Denali road bike. it will probably break alot but its cheap you get wat you buy- http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d... that is not really enough to buy a new road bike. you might be able to get a decent used one and get it tuned up at a bike shop. keep in mind if you get a "bargain" online you would still probably need to get it assembled by a proffesional, it's not like a piece of ikea furniture, you need the proper tools and experience to make it run nicely. a vintage machine that has been tuned up can be quite a nice ride, but avoid department store brands like huffy or columbia. one classy older machine that is easy to find on ebay for example is a motobecane super mirage, which was a mid level bike when new, can be found for quite a bit less than $200, and with the addition of a tune up and some new tires will be much better than a cheap road bike from a big box store. |
