Best entry level road bike? |
Best entry level road bike? Bicycling magazine called the Trek 1000 "The best $700 bike we've ever ridden". I'd have to agree and you can get one cheapter than that, I paid $550 for mine and it has held up well for 3000+ miles. I'd get rid of the seat it comes with, it's junk, but the frame is solid and light and the Tiagra/Sora (depending on the year) components are good. It's a far cry from a carbon bike, but honestly, its a very, very good entry level bike. Good enough that I don't mind waiting longer to buy my next bike, it has done the job for me. I hear good things about Giant's OCR3 and Specialized Allez as well, but I've ridden them all and the Trek was my choice. Specialized Allez Giant OCR series KHS Flite series depends on what you want to spend dont forget your helmet! http://www.specialized.com |
