Can I easily convert my old Motobecane road bike to a fixed gear?

The frame, while cosmetically busted, is in pretty good shape. It's a dumpster find, probably from the late 70s or early 80s. I know there are some issues with converting French bikes because of their idiosyncratic sizing....Any advice would be nice!

Google "Sheldon Brown". He has a very good website with much info on single -speed/fixed gear bikes.
If it has horizontal dropouts - your in business! " == " Horizontal

Vertical dropout have to have a chain tensioner or eccentric hub like the "ENO" - Since you got it out of a dumpster, I doubt you would spring for that! " || " Vertical

Dropout refers to the part of the frame the rear wheel is resting in.
