Are the slick self sealing road bike tires good? never tried?

i weigh in at 260 lbs and i refuse to by self sealing stuff because it is extra weight and as long as u dont ride like an idiot u should be fine with regular tubes

too heavy and sluggish. not for me. honestly, i rarely get flats and i am a big guy. if you watch running over stuff and keep the pressure up, you shouldnt be having flats very often.
I don't use 'em I use ultra light tubes for road and MTB trails. I rarely flat. Maybe once every 3-5 years and I'm not light either.
I use ultra light tubes in my road bike, so I would not even entertain the idea of filling them with glue.

(filling my tubes with Helium, to save a few Grammes, has crossed my mind once or twice though)!
