The Sheldon Brown site listed above is a great site, informational and kind of entertaining in its own right. The guy is a bicycle genious. The Park Tools website has step-by-step instructions with pictures for dozens of common procedures that is very helpful.

Merrick ----there are books in Colorado Cyclist's website ( www.coloradocyclist.com ) that are recommended for road bikers. CHECK IT OUT!
