I want to buy a road bike now for under 拢600. What make do you recommend I buy and why? I think Giant are the bikes your looking for! They are simply good bikes and great value for money. I believe the OCR range is discontinued in the UK, but the SCR range has been extended. Check them out. Evans cycles are a little overpriced, you can find better bargains elsewhere. How much is that in $$? For about $500-$600 you can get an entry level road bike such as the Giant OCR. For about $1500 you can get a Cannondale Synapse. Is that in your ballpark? I think that you are from England , for this money you can get decent bicycle for shure . Just visit bicycle shops , compare and test ride before you buy . It is simple and I do understand that you want for your money the best in price range . Many bikes model 2007 will be on sale so start looking for quality bike . I don't know what bikes you have to choose from over there, but I've bought things from Chain Reaction and they seem like they have great deals on all kinds of brands, so you might check out their offerings. Here in the states, for $1200 (600gpb, right?) you have a lot to choose from. I know the entry level Trek 1000 is around $600. Scott, Jamis, Giant, and Felt all have good bikes, too, and similar entry models. . Most manufacturers have an entry model and as you go up in price you get better components, sometimes a different frame or carbon fiber stays, etc. Specialized and Cannondale are pricier and not necessarily any better, but for the $1200 range you can get into a couple of their models, too. Scott is making some nice stuff these days. I have a Cannondale carbon Synapse and just love it! Since most frames are so similar and most components are really good nowadays, I'd focus on the bike that's in your price range and has the best quality (for the price level) of these things: 1) wheels, 2) shifters, and 3) rear mech. The warranty on the frame isn't all that valuable for a road bike, but it's something to consider. I'd focus on the component package instead, though. Be sure to test ride any of the bikes you're interested in if the shop will let you. If they won't let you test ride, I'd shop somewhere else. Keep in mind that the bike you test may not be set up the way you will have it for yourself, but you can still get a good feel for how it handles rough road and vibration, cornering, etc. This is an easy question. If I were you I would go to the closest Evans Cycles and look at the Pinnacle range. For 600GBP (about $1100) Pinnacle is a great bike. A little more info... Pinnacle is designed in the UK and engineered in the U.S. The product is then extensively tested and detailed, then built in the same factories as brands such as Trek and Specialized. Watch the Tour of Britian this year. The Evans/Pinnacle team will be riding their Team Aeos model... I think that the Legerra range is closer to your price target. 27 years in the industry Check out www.twowheelsgood.co.uk based in North London email Jon or Dean.
