What's a good entry level road bike for a good price? |
I would prefer a Trek. Trek 1000 , Giant OCR3, or Felt F90 would be GREAT investments! These are all in the sub $1000 price range and offer very well built frames and components. The best thing to do would be go to your local bike shop and test ride a few. Hope this helps! www.trekbikes.com www.giant-bicycles.com www.feltracing.com Jamis, Raleigh, Trek, Cannondale, Giant, Specialized, are the established ones. The newcomers are Leader, Scattante and Douglas who offer what seems to be a lot of bike for the money but have not much of a track record. The last 3 are mostly sold online. check craigslist.com for a sweet shwinn from pre-84 with 700c tires and you'll be set. I will only ride shwinn and zebrakenkos. it's all about the steelframes especially for an entry level bike, buy a used and fix it up to what you want. It is highly beneficial to learn to fix it yourself,so when you throw sme serious cash at a new roadbike (waterford), it is well worth the time and cash you spend Check out KHS, Specialized, or Trek. Expect to pay at least $ 800 for a good entry level bike. http://www.specialized.com KHS |
