How much does it cost to get a road bike painted?

I been seeing prices between $150-$400? I bought a vintage Raleigh and I was thinking about getting it sprayed over. Do they normal take off everything, or do you bring them the frame/forks?

Prices sound correct. Yes you would bring in a frame and fork only. They would likely take it a part for you at extra cost. But stripping a bike down is simple and you'll have your parts at your house not laying around some shop.

If you can't remove the crank for example, or metal emblem, take off all you can and leave what you can't do to them. I assume your taking it to a painter that specializes in bikes.

I've had a few of my frame stripped and re-powder coated

total cost with the strip of the old paint ..prep of the frame and 2 powder coats (one color coat, and one clear coat) run about 250- 300..but it all depends on the painter

and yes you'll have to remove all the parts and just bring them the frame and fork
