I don't race but I ride 60-100 miles/wk. For years I've always stuck by my standard, the Continental Grand Prix, but lately I've not been impressed with their durability. Note that I'm 220 lbs and ride hilly terrain.
Michelin Megamium. Best tires I've come across. I'm 260, 6'5". I was a fan of the Grand Prix's for a long time, too. But now I can't part with the Megamium.
Bontrager Race Lite tires. I've gotten about 2500 miles per back tire. I'm on my third one. Still have the original front tire. Can't go wrong.
there is a cat. 2 road racer that I work with who swears by the Bontrager Racelite tires.
