Road legal kx250 motocross bike? |
i know they have i have to have a light front and rear, speedo, horn licence plate and present V5 document, but what about the exhaust i know as standeard they are loud would i have to replace it to a quieter one, if so its a shame beacuse the noise is awsome. any else ive missed to get a road leag one, i dont want an enduro either, also do i need to cange the tyres to road legal ones. many thanks. oh and its got to be a 2stroke Yes, you need new exhaust system which is legal on the street. i say u dont need an exsast/new street tires b/c ive seen many bikes without either don't forget the brake light, and mirrors. exhaust has to be street legal, although many people put a street legal on for the mot then change it back, but if you get pulled you stand to get a fine (not sure if it is points aswell now) If you want a daytime mot all you need is road legal tyres, a road legal exhaust can (b.s stamped) , a number plate of correct size and a horn ( has to be electronic, not a pushbike squeeze type) and thats it. You don't need lights or speedo, and that includes a stop light! There are some very knobbly tyres that are still road legal that you can use which still look like motocross tyres , eg. Michelin AC10. Hope this helps, but a bit of advice though...... if you go for a daytime MOT the police hate it , so carry the certificate with you to show them because YOU WILL GET STOPPED. Ride road legal motocross bikes on road myself........... if you go for an old bike , pre 1985 , then you don't even need a road legal exhaust!!! ha ha |
