On a bike....what side of the road are you supposed to ride on....left or right...? in the u.s. that is? Now that you are completely confused ride right down the middle of the road. For Christs sakes people have we forgotten this simple rule already?? Ride with the flow of traffic. Learn and use hand signals if in high traffic areas. Riders need to wear helmets in most States. Riders/Pedestrians always have the right of way. No wonder we're all killing each other on the roadways!! The left...in the u.s. go with the flow of traffic and for god's sake if there is a sidewalk use that instead. Dont be one of those idiots who back up traffic on their whimpy little bike against traffic flow...that way they can see you and you can see them....preferably on a sidewalk if possible... In the U.S., it's on the right with the flow of traffic, and you have to follow all the rules cars do too, like stop signs, right of way, etc. You also should use hand signals to let people know when you're turning. A small mirror will allow you to see traffic behind you. Walkers walk on the left facing oncoming traffic so they can see the cars. Well in the UK you're supposed to ride with the traffic (which is left in UK), so i'd imagine it'd be right, as thats the way the traffic flows in the US. You're never supposed to ride towards the traffic, it's considered much more dangerous. In the UK anyway. I would imagine it's the same in the US though! On the right, with the flow of traffic. And yes, please use a sidewalk if it's available. If you're walking, it should be on the left, against the flow of traffic. Again, always on the sidewalk. http://www.kenkifer.com/bikepages/traffi... |
