What's the advantage of a $2000 bike over a $200 bike? |
I have a $150 road bike and it works fine for me. I don't race and I ride to stay fit. What are the advantages of a more expensive, lets say $2000 road bike if any? What would I gain if I get a bike like that ? The $2000 will be lighter, faster and easier to ride but if you are riding to stay fit those advantages would be conterproductive. Stick with the cheap bike and be happy with the knowledge that you are getting a better workout on your heavier and less-aerodynamic bike. weight, aerodynamics, and the name the advantage is knowing you could afford a $2000.00 bike. it feels good. Lighter weight, better quality derailleur overall better quality construction and equipment. insurance pays more when it gets stolen You'd go faster. I'm not sure there are any advantages with regards to staying fit. Weight, Quality, the wow factor and the knowledge you can afford a $2000.00 road bike. |
