How do I look up information about a bike based on a serial number I have? |
I am considering buying a road bike on ebay and so I can't go look at it. I have the serial number for the bike though so I am wondering how I can look up more details about this bike on the internet based on the number that I have. Has anyone bought a bike off ebay before - any suggestions or advice? Thanks. The other person is right -- the only thing the serial # will tell you would be if it was reported stolen. I wouldn't buy a bike on e-bay for the simple fact that you can't try it out. Have you considered "craig's list"? I don't know what city you're in, but there are local craig's list sites for cities around the world: http://www.craigslist.org/about/cities.h... My friend found a great used bike on crag's list and she had the guy deliver it to her himself ... That way she got to check it out first. This will work with ebay only if (by chance) the seller lives near you. Good luck! you cant really look anything up via the serial execpt wether or not it is stolen you should ask the seller for the size of the frame and you could see if that size is right at you local shop but that is about all you can do. I personally do not recomend buying a bike off of ebay that is something i do in person. |
