Windsor VS dawes road bikes? |

Being that the seller is being a bit dishonest in that he is saying Eddy Merckx won races on that model Windsor, I probably wouldn't buy either bike from him. Taking either one of those bikes into a sanctioned race would be like bringing a Ford Escort into a NASCAR competition. Between the two I would get the Dawes because a few of the components are just a bit better than the Windsor. That being said, you must remember that both of those bikes are entry level models. If all you are doing is beating about the neighborhood or doing the occasional charity ride either one will do well. However, if your intention is racing or long distance touring neither of the bikes will last very long. Source(s): 27 years in the industry I would go with the windsor. The shifters and derailleurs appear to be Sora which are about the lowest level that Shimano makes that are sold in bike shops. They are decent for the price. |
