I have a violent reoccuring PC(pilonidal cyst). my first surgery was a general midline removal by a gen surgeon. midline removal is a horrible idea. my next surgery was performed by a colorectal surgeon a week ago. he did and excision with a z plasty close. i really would like to start road biking. commute to work to get fit and save money on gas. i am wondering if ne1 has had this done and gone on to lead a life where you dont worry about your natal cleft(butt crack) every day of your life. I have noticed a lot of bad info about them out there. this disease is highly misunderstood and needs to be researched more by the scientific community. For example the bascoms cleft lift is a much better procedure than what i had done but i cant fly to oregon to get it done by dr bascom. there are not many drs that do this procedure.
Colorectal surgery in general is something most people like to avoid. I know someone who has an anal fissure that consistently bleeds and seeps into his pants. It's very uncomfortable, and I know where you're coming from.
As far as your PC goes, you should wait for about 4 to 5 weeks after the surgery before you start doing activities that involve putting a lot of weight on your anal area (such as biking). Ask your doctor if Roxicet is right for you. It has been known to fight off the pain faster and allows you to have normal bowel movements and speeds up the healing process.
Good luck with everything. |
