Good road bikes?

Good road bikes?

My favorite are the Yamaha series: Royal Stars, Road Stars, and the new StratoLiner 2000 CC twin - Lot's 'O' power + - Comfort Galore - Reasonably Priced - And incredible Dependability!!

I have 20,000 plus miles on my '97' Tour Deluxe and have never had one break down or any service / mechanical problems.

bikesdirect.com, brand name parts for a lot less. rscycle.com has good ones too.
There are many good road bikes out there, just as there are good foods, good vacation spots, etc... Without knowing what you want to use the bike for (how far, how often, where will you ride it?) and what you want to spend, it's too hard to answer your question. I wouldn't trust someone who, without knowing what you're thinking, starts tossing out some makes and models.
These bikes vary greatly on price but all have been really nice:
-Litespeed Catalyst: I own one and love it. Litespeed makes uniformly great bikes in titanium (for the most part), are often envied by others, lasts forever.
-Specialized Tarmac (carbon fiber): really comfy but really responsive; I've always been impressed with Specialized bikes, some of the best riding bikes regardless of price
-Specialized Roubaix: Super comfy yet raced by pros on cobbles
-Cannondale Six13
-Masi 3V: best riding bike, steel is real, heavy compared to today's CF wonders
-Orbea Onix: at $2400 for a Campy Centaur bike weighing 16.5 lbs, nothing can touch this. Very comfortable, very responsive, great handling, better than many mega-buck rides, I can't believe this is not Orbea's top model, lively ride
Whatever you decide on, get a proper fitting and go to a local bike shop to test ride bikes. Money saved by buying on the internet is lost when you have to pay to get adjustments done, servicing, minor component swaps, price breaks on accessories.
You didn't mention a price, but here is where to start - Awesome article!

Raleigh brand is very good, go their website,www.raleighusa.com and you will find all kinds of bikes with prices.
Any bike will do. Remember Bicycles are made of components such as Shimano,Compy,or Suntour. Good choices are Seven,Chaffee,Raleigh or Diamond Back, and my favorite Konga.
So here's a start and always wear your riding apparel for bicycle fittings believe me they might require it.
