Is it true that wearing underwear and or road biking decreases sperm production? whity tighties, yes. they hang for a reason...to lower the temperature (lower than body temp) if the underwear is too tight it cuts of circulation and decreases sperm production yes yes but riding a bike doesnt decrease spearm production that much. I don't think it will happen. Taking a close look at the male reproductive anatomy will help you understand exactly why these two situations were at one time a great concern. The testes are located outside of the body for temperature control so sperm can be stored continuously. Kind of like an on board chiller. When body temperature rises, the scrotum will lower away from the body, and vice verse when temperatures cool. Temperature is optimal for sperm production, which is slightly below regular body temp of 98.6 Too warm or too cool damage viable sperm. Wearing underwear that keeps the scrotal sac near the body can decrease sperm output because of temps being too warm, especially during physical activity. As far as road biking, part of the vas differense (the channel that leads from the scrotal sac through the prostate, and is split off from from the urethra:that leads to the bladder) is located directly between the legs; basically you're sitting on it while biking. Prolonged pressure on the vas differense can not only reduce sperm, but also ED. You can alleviate pressure on this area by installing a wider seat with padding, so your glueteous maximus/butt will absorb more of the weight pressure or a seat that is ergonomically designed to apply your body weight's pressure to the surrounding area. men's health magazine. too tight and heat up is the problem. |
