Is there any big difference other than the weight between a Giant OCR3 and other higher end road bikes? No. You can read the spec's. All the high-end road bikes are under 18 lbs or so. Some of them are closer to 15 lbs. But in real world conditions, that small of a difference doesnt matter. Remember, you have to move your entire body weight + the bike weight, so if you weigh 150 lbs, 3 pounds is a small percentage. Besides, aerodynamic drag is far more important than weight. The differences in bikes at that range a re pretty much just rider preference. Some people don't like the way the giant geometery feels, others love it. I personally love the giant full carbon race frames. However, at that level, it's all about being comfortable on the bike and being fit. You can have the best bike in the world, but if you suck, the bike won't help. Train right, eat right, sleep right. This will give you way better results than fretting over a few ounces of bicycle. good light bikes are not made in china by slave labour. |
