What do i set an excercise bike settings to in order to simulate riding a real bike? |
I'm riding in the BIKE NY event in May thats 42 miles and want to know how i should set the exercise bike at my gym when training to simulate riding an actual bike in a road race. I dont want to be in for a shock when i make the switch from the stationary bike to riding on the road. Thanks Just set the resistance to a level that best matches your riding style on the road. Then every now and then, go up on the resistance a few clicks and stand on the pedals to simulate a sprint or hill climb. Once you get the settings where you think they should be, check your pulse. If it's fairly close to what you get when you're on the road, the settings are about right. use the exercise bike which has preprogrammed settings and changes resistance based on time and distance not sure what they are called, but the better gyms have them that way it automatically simulates flats and hills otherwise, go outside and ride a real bike Go out and ride your bike!!!! http://groups.yahoo.com/group/bicyclingh... |
