Among the following which is the best bike to buy in 150CC series on INDIAN roads and why? |
Friends, I am planning to buy my first bike. I am interested in the 150CC. Based on performance, reliability and look, I have short-listed bikes of my interest as, 01) HERO HONDA CBZ XTREME 10.6 KW (14.4 BHP) @ 8500 rpm, 9.1:1 12.3L, 1.5L reserve Capacity 120kmph, 48kmpl 143 Kg 61K [On Road] 02) TVS APACHE RTR 160 11.19 KW (15.2 BHP) @ 8500 rpm, 9.5:1 16L, 1.5L Capacity 120kmph, 42kmpl 136 Kg 66K [On Road] 03) HONDA UNICORN 2007 9.9 KW (13.3 BHP) @ 8000 rpm 13L, 1.3L Capacity 115kmph, 52kmpl, 146 Kg 62K [On Road] - 64K [GP Edition] The specs aren't perfect. I have not included Pulsar since it is very easy to find one on the road. I dont have much knowledge on Bikes. I heard that Unicorn is good in handling and best refined engine. CBZ XTREME uses the same engine with some tweaks[heard]. About Apache, looks good, it recovered from prevoius flaws in old model. If you are looking in terms of power the RTR leads the pack followed by the CBZ Xtreme and then the Unicorn. in terms of refinement the order would be reversed. The only complaint heard against the Xtreme is the poor rear suspension and the styling of the front fairing. While it is too soon to say how the Apache RTR160 will fare it please keep in mind that if the product does not do too well in your city it would be difficult to obtain spares, service support and resale value. If you can live with the less than exciting performance I find the Unicorn to be the most complete 150cc for city conditions. Keep these factors in mind and take trials of all the products before making your final decision. BAJAJ CHETAK!! the reason why is that come with a spare tire. I know the Chetaks in the USA are 150`s but I`m not sure about India. Stay away from the motorcycles. India is changing from scooters to Motorbikes, but they will leave you stranded when you get a flat tire.they will also make you dirty when it rains because they do not have legshields like the scooters do. scooters are way better too!! http://scoot.net/ I thought youz guys drove camels or rode cows or sumpin. |
