What is the rule about riding bike? |
not a motorcycle, a bike bike, the one you paddle, can i ride on street, am I spose to be on the side walk? i would like to bike around town to save the world from my car's co2, but I don't know where my bike spose to go on the road or off the road Ride on the road, same direction as traffic. Signal for turns, obey stop signs and red lights. Basically, anything a car should do, a cyclist should also. A helmet may or may not be required where you are, but it's a good idea to wear one anyway. If you ride at night, have a good light set (front and rear). A bicycle is a vehicle just as a car is, so it goes on the street, not the sidewalk -- which is for pedestrians. However if you're not careful you'll piss off a lot of drivers, and they're allowed a free shot at you, so do it at your own risk. That would depend where you live...in many cities, riding a bike on the sidewalk is illegal. Mostly you are supposed to ride on the side of the road going with traffic. First wear a helmet..stay off siedwalks..ride against the traffic Stay in the bike lane. Don't ride on the sidewalk though, you'll probably end up running over a few pedestrains. |
