Bike tyre puncture..from the inner wheel side...? |
I have had my bike for many years, and have had many different repairs for different parts of it. However, i have a puncture on my back tyre, so like i have done many times with my tyres, i repair it with my little repair kit which works fine. However, the inner tube has a cut in it, on the side of the tube not facing the road, it is directly below one of the spokes, and i have repaired it, and ridden it and yet it still punctures in exactly the same place everytime, it is a very definate and fine cut, however, when i take the tyre and tube off, the bottom of the spoke is no more pretruding than any of the others. Has anyone got any ideas as to what it could be and how it could be fixed? Ive even tried gaffer tape covering the end of the spoke, but that doesnt even work. I want to try and avoid the cycle shop as i am a student and so i cant really afford such luxuries! Many thanks! You're going to need a new tube at the least mate, cut the old one into a long strip and put it all the way round the inside of the wheel before you fit the new tube, it should cushion it a bit, try to make sure the tyre is properly inflated, ohh, check for rust spots inside the wheel, rub them down, they can puncture the tube too. Good Luck. You need a new tire, and tube,Walmart is the cheepest.Cause it's gonna keep hapining. Take ioff the rear rim - remove the tire and the tube - take that to the repair shop and have them tighten and true the rear rim. Sounds like you have a loose spoke in there you cant see it because your riding it and putting pressure on it and that is causing the spoke to jab your tube. Shouldn't be more than 10-20.00 Next time ask in the Bicycle forum |
