I'm looking to get a dirt bike - any recomendations? |
I'm an absolute beginner(hoping to overcome that phrase soon) and I would love to get into off roading/motocross and I have no idea where to start. I'm 5'10" and weigh approx 180 lbs (don't know what size bike I would need) For bike needs: I would like something that I could take out on the trail, and also ride 5 miles to work over a logging road(big gravel chunks) and possibly do some mini jumps (when I'm advanced enough, no I'm not planning to kill myself yet) any info would be MUCH appreciated! If I were you I would get a CRF 150. It should fit you well and give you more than enough power needed, but at the same time, wont throw you off the seat. This bike is a four-stroke so it is more timid than a two stroke but it will allow you to learn the clutch much easier. This way you wont have to worry about being in the power band all the time. Good luck :) P.S dear A K... its a logging road you **** tard i would suggest buying a older kx (KAWASAKI) kx 125 dirt bike they re fast and cheap and easy to work on A good first dirt bike for somebody who wants to trail ride and hit small jumps is a Honda XR250R. It sounds like the perfect bike for the type of riding you plan on doing. They don't make them anymore, but they are extremely reliable, very easy to ride, and cheap. 1972-1986 honda xl-250 well i love honda, so i would recomend the reliability of their 4 stroke dirtbikes. i would say either the crf150 or the xr 200 or the crf 230 or the crf 250 any of those are great bikes, and if you look at www.boston. craigslist.org then click on the place where you live on the right and under motorcyles (a category) there are many of those bikes for cheaper money than new. good luck and be carefull i ride dirtbikes i guess no one read the question because no street legal bikes have been suggested. a honda xr250L can go trail riding and you could ride it to work. suzuki dr400s are also good-better power and chassis than the honda. the new ktm exc's are street legal though much more advanced |
