Is Riding A Motorbike/Motorcycle Like Riding A Bike? Is It As Easy As It Looks??? |
Hi, Well Ive Got A Bike And Im Gud At Riding It If I Get A Motorbike For Riding Off Road, Will I Be Gud At It? Is It As Easy As It Looks? Jus Say If Its Easy Or Hard Thanxs Many people say you have to learn to ride a bike first. You don't have to be able to ride a bicycle to learn how to ride a motorcycle.There are some things that you do with a bicycle that if you applied the same thing to riding a motorcyle you will wreck. Forget learning to ride a bicycle first. Here in PA they offer free motorcycle safety course and provide motorcycles for the course, They are 250's and most of them are Honda Shadows. These are good training cycles and are not very expensive. They start out teaching you the trip precheck through to avoiding hazzards on the road. We had 5 people in our class who have never driven a motorcycle, one of which never even been on a motorcycle before. Everybody passed the four day class and received their license. Try a smaller bike and work your way up until you become more experienced. However, if this will be your first bike buy used and pay cash, get the experience of riding before moving up to bigger and more expensive bikes. I have had friends who bought big bikes like Goldwings and rode only a few times then selling them at a loss because they weren't ready for a big bike. Nothing wrong with starting small and working up to bigger later on. In fact the smaller bike will normally sell quicker when you are ready to move up, then use the money for your next bike. just like riding a bike....cos it is a bike... they just go a sh8t load quicker...... It's not that different... except the motorcycle has a manual transmission Easy once you get the hang of it it's has easy has spelling good. If you're as "gud" at riding a bicycle as you are at spelling, it should be a no-brainer for you! You're special! Being easy or difficult is relative. To a brain surgeon performing brain surgery is a daily common task. To you it might be a little more difficult. To ride a motorcycle around the neighborhood and stop on red and go on green that is easy. That does not make you good. Get on a track and run AMA times is a little more difficult. Therefore to Mladin or Rossie learning the basic muscle mechanics to riding are second nature and they don鈥檛 even think about it; while a newbie will have to think about it all the time. Riding a bicycle and riding a motorcycle have some similar traits but they are very different. The geometry is completely different and the similarities end with riding on two wheels. Therefore, because you can ride a bicycle well does not mean you can ride a motorcycle well. Take a motorcycle safety class. The basic course is geared for the super newbie. If you want to ride sport bikes get a small bike and start slow. You will get better faster on a small bike. Then move up after you can get around well on the smaller bike. |
