Selection criterion for 2-wheel road cruiser(Royal enfield).?

Hey, I am thinking of buying a second hand road cruiser like a royal enfield, can some please provide me the criterion that i should use to choose the bike, (cost, model, look, pickup, etc.)?

insurance , ownership papers
bu second hand 350 only because only that shall give you best pickup or a machismo export model.
rs. 30000 is an enough budget to buy an old and remaking it
or either you buy in this a reworked byke.
check the electric system and the plugs.
if they are black dont buy them
usually sellers do before selling - add oil inpetrol to overcome valve weakness.
but this can be detected by spark plugs.
it is must to take test ride.
but ride the bike on its full sppeeed now note the byke performance.
for inspection go suddenly.
correct electric charging is must so note any missing .
first kick start .
older models are best in speed and charging uses 6 volt batteries
older than 1979. average of 25 kms per litre is an ideal one.
older ones can be rided at 20kms phr sppeed also in 4th gear .

new uses 12 volt , less pickup , early engine overhauling,
no pleasure rides , but give s aaverage between 32-38 kms per litre.

but machismo is a good byke .

if you go for older check for original kick , levers nickel and brass,
decompressor levers , milometers in rear wheel ,
and the old model hub in wheels that is the most beautiful part of older versions.
also old horns and its switches.
if you go for older do check it or buy a one under10000 and then rebuild it . check the wires used have good amount of copper in them .
check frame and the engine and aluminium body minutely for any cramps .usuallu mechanics fill them with m seal. Source(s): myself driving it from class 10 , 1996.
Look at overall cost of ownership.
Initial cost, maintenance, insurance, registration, etc
If ur looking perticularly for royal enfield(350 - 500) ,,First confirm that it was well maintained before, So that there would be no future trouble, Its for sure that u dont want to approach servicing center again and again?,, And then take it to the mechanic u know or mechanic to the bike and tell him to have good check of all parts and confirm the status and then finalise it ,,If he says its in real good condition and worths buy then only proceed to the next step ,,Ask the owner about what price dose he is expecting and then think about it by comparing to expectation
Brand new royal enfields are been priced around 75,000 to 1 lack RS(on road),If the bike ur buying is new then depending on its condition price may go down by 15,000 to 30,000 RS ,,And older bikes r in different types and prices ,,Its diffecult to mention all the prices,It would been much better if u would have mentioned the specfic name of the bike u want to buy,Then the answer would have been much clear ,
By the way nice choice ,,good luck!!!
I'd go On line to India and inquire if conversion is possible to LPG.
Indians have a lot more experience than most in alternative fuels
and transportation of large populations.
Insurance cost will be your primary concern; not the cost of the bike.

Seriously research that in your cost analysis for obtaining a motorcycle. If you've never owned a motorcycle, you'll be truly amazed.
Personal experience.
