Is it possible to purchase V-Brakes that would allow you put them in a different position on your drop bars?

I have a road bike with drop bars and I have nerve issues in my left arm that won't allow me to grab my left brake. I saw in a few bike shops that now they have drop bars that allow brakes to be accessed like when riding a bike with a flat bar. Is it possible to buy either new V-brakes and put them in a different position on my current drop bars or a new drop bar with the V-brakes in the desired position? I'm really on a tight budget...any ideas on what that would cost me?

I guess I don't understand...

V brakes are a style of caliper... part of the contraption that rubs against the rim. This typically has nothing to do with the brake levers... the things you actuate with your hand.

I have seen what you describe... 25 years ago they were called safety levers (and they weren't safe at all). I don't have a lot of info on the new product and am unsure whether you can use them with ergo (STI) shifters, if you have them.

I think your best option is to talk with a local bike shop about your particular issue.

There is internet and all about bike and bicycle parts , accesories and so on . Link is http://www.bikeschool.com/links/... . Have it in favorites .
they make intermediate levers that mount near the stem on drop bars, sort of like the old safety levers but much safer. you should have them installed professionally at a bike shop. v-brakes are not generally compatible with road bikes, but these intermediate levers should work with what you have, as long as the brake cables run underneath the handle bar tape. it will cost a little bit (not too much) but it should solve your problem.
