What is a fully lugged frame?

I recently came to own a Bianchi fully lugged frame, I was just wondering what that meant, I am new to road cycling. Also if anyone knows anything about a BIANCHI CAMPIONE DEL MONDO D'ITALIA road bike I would greatly appreciate the information.

Look at the joints in the frame, like where the top tube meets the head tube, or the downtube meets the bottom bracket. You will see those tubes slide into these beautiful, sculpted pieces at those joints. That small piece that the main tubes fit into are called Lugs. For the most part, the only frame material that uses Lugs is fairly high quality Steel, and Bianchi is famous for their Steel frames. The old statement in the bicycle industry is "Steel is Real" because it is relatively light weight, very comfortable, forgiving, and quite efficient. The other type of material that is commonly lugged is Carbon Fiber, but in this case, the lugs are internal and you won't see ANY joint between the tubes at all.
Lugged Steel frames are BEAUTIFUL, STRONG, FUN, etc... and if you can pick that Bianchi up at a good price, DO IT! You won't be sorry! Source(s): http://www.rivendellbicycles.com/html/bi...
Bike Mechanic and Salesperson for more than 10 years, I know a thing or two about 'em!
It's a frame that's twice as lugged as a half lugged frame. Sorry, dunno.
A lugged frame uses shaped sockets were tubes are inserted into and then brazed to join them together. Here are some pics from some of the best:

The Bianchi bike you have is a classic steel bike. These bikes are very good although a paper comparison with today's state of the art bikes will show that it is a bit behind in technology. BUT, the ride of steel bikes are coveted even in this day of carbon fiber, aluminum and titanium. Those in the know ride steel.
