Aero bar like the timetrial use.? |
I got mtb hardtail slick tire, but I want to put aero bar on it.Is it possible?Is it not ugly for mtb and not a road bike? I usually ride on flat long pavement road and I try to lean my two elbow on the bar and is more aerdynamic and pick up more speed. My question is: Why? Besides what you stated above. Aerobars tend to change your bikes handling capabilities. That is why aerobars are not allowed in mass start events (like a road race, criterium, etc). There used to be a bar made by Specialized IIRC that was not quite an aerobar, but allowed you the multiple hand positions and could even allow you to slip into an aero tuck. I saw a number of these on Mtb as well as road bikes. But I certainly would not recommend a set of aerobars on a Mtb. Nothing wrong with this set up if suit you well . I had long time ago surgery on my wrist and I did use aero bars for year on my MTB too , it help ..... Remember that you ride your bike so you can do any modification on it to be comfortable when riding ....... Depends on the daimeter of your handlebars. |
