Giant, Specialized or Trek??? |
I have about $1000 to $1300 to spend on my first road bike. Which brand do you think is the best? I'm a woman if it matters. The one that feels the best. Try all of the brands. I would not just stick to those three brands, there are alot of quality brands out there. You should also pay attention to the components on the bike, for example, what derailleur, braking system etc is the bike shop adding to the bike. I notice when I first started looking for a bike, each shop was different and that determined the price. Go to a reputable bike shop and discuss the options with the staff. Then go to another one and another one before buying. I recently helped purchase a bike with my fiance. She looked at Trek, Specialized, Cannondale and Le Mond. As mentioned above, trying them out is a good idea. You can see which manufacturer makes the bike that fits you best. Comparing parts is good when determining the deal you are getting, but you really need to consider the frame. All of the above manufacturers make bikes for women. When we were looking, the parts between them all were very comparable, but the ride is what set them apart. The key is to find a shop with a large inventory so you can try a few models. Mikes Bikes, if you have one near you, usually has a large supply of bikes on hand to try. Definitely consider the support the shop will offer you. Bikes can be found all over, so if your local shop has what you want, but they don't offer much support beyond the sale, you can do better. I don't imagine that will be a problem as most shops are very helpful these days. Good luck. all of those bikes are overpriced for what you are getting. it is like comparing a royal's turd to a commoner's turd. they both still smell like ****. compare a usa bike to a chinabike and you might be able to tell the difference between a bike made by a relatively free person and a slave that does not give a **** about what he is putting out. |
