What DIRT BIKE is best for me??!!? |
i am 5'9, 185 lbs beginning rider off road only maybe racing no offense but your a little on the heavy side so i would have to say the crf250f cause the 125 has the power to do it. but it's going to be working it to death. the 250 has the power to carry you and it's a easy bike to ride. i wouldn't worry about the year actually i would and older bike rather then a newer one seeing it's your first bike cause you all ways ruin your first. but that's what i would go with. get a Honda also what ever you do. Honda is the way to go. well to start u shuold probabley get a honda crf 100. but if ur gonna race then get the honda cr 250. 85 cc or 110cc of Kawasaki 150cc of Honda 125cc of Ktm Since your a bigger guy, i would go with a YZ 250. These are great bikes, with good power. You can't go wrong with a yamaha. it depends if you mean motocross, or trail riding (through the woods), for motocross i would buy a Yamaha YZF 250cc or YZ 250cc, but you might need to throw a flywheel weight on it to make the bike more manageable, and for trail riding i would recommend a KTM XC-W 200cc or 250cc Forget the mini bikes. Begin looking for a Kawasaki KDX200. You find them quite frequently on E-Bay and most riding forums. The motors are bullet proof, handle great in the woods, have low end powerbands that make learning to ride very simple. Maintenance is very basic unlike the high revving 4-strokes that require frequent tear downs and inspections. The bikes are cheap, tough and a hoot to ride. I have a 2005 I bought new last year as a play bike. Ride it more than my race bikes. 32 years of racing experience. |
