Will road cycling bulk up my legs? |
I am planning on riding a bike to/from to a total of about 1 1/2 hours a day max. Will this make my legs bigger and my thighs bulkier? Depending on how you ride, it could. If it is a leisure ride, the bulk will be minimal. If it is a serious pump, with hard hills, then yes, there is the potential to bulk a bit. I wouldn't worry too much though. To gain much size, you would have to be lifting weights at low reps. I feel the benefit ( burning calories) would offset any muscle gain and you would probably never see a difference. cycling always bulked my legs so I did fast walking to trim them back down after I had any kind of ride.fast walking-running did it for me trim wise. cycling always bulked my legs so I did fast walking to trim them back down after I had any kind of ride.fast walking-running did it for me trim wise. I wouldnt think they would be too much bulkier. I mean you only pushing your own weight. Look at lance armstrong. His legs arnt weird bulky looking... im not sure as most cyclist have skinny legs, i think resistance training would be better for this |
