Question on a Honda CT90 trail Bike? |
Hi, I was just given a Honda CT90 this last weekend, and I am working on it and trying to get it back on the road. I was wondering, I pulled the old battery out of it and bought a new one, and it says to charge for 5-6 hours (haven't done it). My real question is----Does the battery give the spark plug spark while you are kicking the engine over? And does the neutral light only glow for a second while you are kicking it over because of the battery power? Does the CDI ignition ONLY keep the lights, spark, etc... running while the engine is on? or does the CDI give spark to the engine while you are kicking it over? My main question here is-------does the battery give the engine spark for only while kicking the engine over until it starts? I just need to know, because I don't want to find out that I have a bad wires. Thanks! Nope. The battery supplies all the power for the bike. The alternator (or flywheel magneto) recharges the battery. CDI is a type of ignition system (fires spark plugs only). I believe it is Capacitive Discharge Ignition. |
