Suppose you are riding your bike at a fast speed...?

say at 75kmph or even more. Now one of the tyres goes flat or gets punctured due to a thick nail or something else lying on the road.
How to manage this situation as mismanaging this situation can result in one's death? This could be even more dangerous when someone is riding pillion (sitting behind you). Isn't it?

I want to know as I ride at high speeds? Though I always wear helmets (headgear) as a precaution.

OMIGOD! LAY THE BIKE DOWN!!!

No, don't do that. Once you decide to lay it down, you've given up. You still have a chance to ride it out if you don't panic.

Ever ridden on a street that's about to be repaved? You know, the sections with deep, heavy grooves that jerk the bike around underneath you? You know how to ride on that, right? Just RELAX and let the bike move around.

Same thing, but there is more danger with a flat tire since it changes your steering angle depending on which tire went out. Try to relax and keep the bike upright as much as possible, but it will be VERY unstable beneath you. Let off the throttle and apply just a little of the OPPOSITE brake from the flat, i.e. flat front, rear brake. Get off the road if possible. Basically, don't panic and be smoooooooth.

If it happens in a corner, you're going down, buddy. Hope you're wearing more than just a helmet! BTW, 75 kph is only 46 mph, which is not beyond the reach of a good bicycle!
At that kind of speed, the vibration caused by a flat tire is likely going to make you lose control almost immediately. All I can think of to do is to aim at something soft (grass, bushes, etc., if available) and try to roll when you hit the ground, as opposed to landing on your hands and knees.

You are correct that riding with another person will make it harder to control the bike in this situation.

By the way, are you sure that you're riding at 75kmph? That's pretty darned fast for a bicycle.
You're in the lap of the gods on this one mate

If it's your front tire you're going over the handle bars.

If it's your rear tire you mght be able to do a controlled deceleration.

If you're going round a corner you're screwed!!

You really shouldn't ride pillion on a bike - definitely not at that speed!!!
Well if it's the back tire no problem at all and not too much even if it's the front so long as you are not in a tight turn at the time it happens. The law of probability says you have a much grater chance of being hit by lightning though than being injured because of a tire blowing out on a motor cycle.
pretty much outta control, just grab the handle as stiff as possible and keep it straight, try hard not to sway. Dont even think of using the front brake, use only the rear brake, no matter whether the puncture is in the front or the back.
My dad wrecked going roughly 85kmph/55mph on the beltway in Washington D.C. He mentioned a few years ago that probably the only thing that saved his brains and skin was a high quality helmet and high quality riding gear. A helmet protects your brains, but doesn't prevent some nasty as.s road rash.
well i would pray that you dont land in the street where you will scrape your skin off to the bone cause at that speed and front tire you are going to fall
