the problem i have is, i race road bikes and have a helmet cam, when i use the helmetcam it only records to card not tape, this results in a stuttered recording where as on tape the footage is seamless, i was advised it may have to do with the ''codac'' (im not even sure if thats how you spell it...any help would be greatly appreciated..thx
Hard to know if that is the problem. The memory card might not be fast enough to support recording at the full TV frame rate of 30 frames/second (in the US, ok it's really 29.97). Typically these cameras will record at slower rates (and resolution) which could give you some studdering. When you try to play it back, try to transfer the files off the card and on to your computer first and see if that makes a difference. Now the codec is what is used to compress and decompress (get it? co/dec) video to make the size more manageable. Usually the camera hardware will support a given type, and you will need the same type on your computer to play it back. For more info on codecs, try Wikipedia for a good overview at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/video_codec... |
