What is the best route for a bike trip from Mumbai? |
The place should not be more than 120 kms from Mumbai. It should not take more than three thours to ride. The road should preferably be good. Puna is more thank 250 kms from Mumbai and the Mumbai-Pune road is not in good condition. Moreover, bikes are not allowed on the Mumbai-Pune expressway so don't go there. If you want some places close by, go to Matheran, which is at Neral. By road, you can go on the Mumbai-Nasik Highway and take a right turn at Kalyan signal Junction. From there, go straight and turn left on the Karjat road which will take you all the way to Neral and Matheran. Total distance is less than 100 kms and there is also parking facility for bikes and other vehicles in the compound outside Matheran gate (RS 25-30 for bike parking for one day). I had gone there with my friend on CBZ motorcycle some time back and it is suitable for one day trip. Leave early in the morning so you can spend the enitre day there for sight-seeing, horseriding, shopping, etc. If you leave from there by 6:30pm in the evening, you can reach back to Mumbai by 8:00pm. There are no ATM's in Matheran so carry sufficient pocket money. Lonaval, Kandala is also an alternate location for a bike trip although it is slightly more than 120 kms from Mumbai Khandala-Lonavala is nice .You can go here in the morn. , Enjoy there n come back in the evening . Prachi ............................. you can only go bby ---- pune road ......... no other choice ....................... Sorry boss ur wish may be quite impossible in Mumbai. vajreshvari is nice place |
