How to avoid patrol cars on a bike? |
Wow. Just got a warning from a friend i knew from jack in the box, i was going 70 in a 65. turning off the next road about a mile out. Ok so i see this older cop car, looked decommissioned. 1993 year? Really old.. I started going pass him, then i see on his dash some tools. At the time my radar detector was picking up a radio signal, the big "X" llit up, because it heard somefrequincy****. Anyways i stopped for a min, then i thought about it, so i just started accelerating, 1/2 mile left turned on the street to gas station, see a BIG red light where the center rearview mirror was, then the spot light uncurling on the right side. Ooooh boy. I knew him for bout a year or two, but still. We talked. He says "ooh yeah thats why we bought this older decommed car for undercover," i mean i've seen a new stratus? but its easily idtfd. "Oh yeah the reason why your detector was going off like crazy is becuz i was right behind you. didn't know it, usually i have a radar in the rear windw I have never once stopped someone for less than 10 mph over the limit. There are areas where I try to keep it to 15+ becuase of the volume. Don't Speed Gotta love the simple answers USN Vet sounds like a good idea, you might want to also find a park or somewhere there is a fence or wall, in your city or town, that has a gap only a bike can fit through. Just in case you need to get rid of any vehicle/vehicles following/chasing you. Drive the speed limit? I can't believe that most places are going to bother you with an unmarked for 5 mph over the speed limit. That is so below the norm for traffic guys, it's amazing. There were some areas I gave people 13 mph over the speed limit before I stopped them just because of the volume of speeders. I never stopped anyone for less than 8 over the posted speed unless the roads were totally iced over and it was dangerous to go even the speed limit. I think you need to worry more about other drivers if you are on a motorcycle than cops. Believe me I know I was hit on a black &white Kawasaki 1000 Police in uniform. If they don't see a 6 foot motorcycle cop, white helmet, etc. they aren't going to see you on a little Yamaha. Get your priorities straight and arrive alive. |
