Will holding the clutch while riding a motor bike reduce milage?

If iam at 30kmph on a straight road and if i hold the clutch will it reduce the milage?? (i want desent answers not crap)

I am unsure of the intent of your question.

It looks as though you want to know the effect on fuel economy of coasting with the clutch disengaged (holding it in).

Coasting in neutral or with the clutch disengaged allows the engine speed to drop to idle. You will use less fuel this way than if you continue in gear at a steady speed.

But if you are slowing down, you are better served if you leave the motorbike in gear until revs drop to a point where downshifting is appropriate.

The reason is that most modern engines are designed to shut off fuel delivery to the engine completely when you close the throttle. This means that you are not even using the small amount of fuel required to maintain idle in neutral or with clutch disengaged, if you stay in gear.

If your engine is not designed to shut off fuel flow completely when the throttle is closed, then there is no fuel economy disadvantage to coasting in neutral.

Holding the clutch in is not a good idea, though. You will be putting extra strain on the clutch throw-out bearing, which is designed for short-term use when changing gears. Using it as 'neutral' will wear out the bearing prematurely.

I hope this helps. Safe riding! Source(s): Automotive Consultant and Buyer's Advocate for 18 years.
If you mean ride the clutch, all that would do is burn out the clutch plate.

If you mean freewheeling out of gear, then I guess there would be no difference to if you were in gear.
do not do that thats a good way too burn out your clutch !
Holding the clutch will burn your clutch, reduce your speed and decrease your milage.
will reduce your clutch life! enjoy!
If anything, "coasting" would increase your milage.
If you are moving with no load on the engine you will use less fuel
It will also shorten the clutch life.
