I want to get a bike for 300 what bike should i buy...? |
Im gonna mainly use it for traveling around the roads/side walks of toronto :). Sounds like you may want a cruiser bike from your description, but you may go a bit over your 300 because they are very much in vogue right now and many of the companies are trying to get into this market. If you are doing more of a commute or using the bike for work I would go with what they're calling an urban assault bike. It's built for some speed, but mostly indestructible is the goal for those folks that live in a city that the streets are like streets in a war zone. Again you may go over your 300 on this one too, especially if you go disc brakes and such. Another option you might consider is getting a used bike. There was this friend of mine that was selling a racer CADD 4 design for 300 bucks. Just the fork that he had upgraded to on the bike was worth 500 bucks. It was a road bike, but the amount of bike that I would have gotten for 300 was more like 1500 bucks. I have a used Trek MTB that I got for 85 dollars. Some places like pawn shops don't really know what they have and don't care. I think they lowered the price on this bike because the tire was flat. Like I care, I can fix that for 20 cents :-) Don't be afraid to go with a used bike! Many times people are getting rid of their old bike because they upgraded. The money is already spent, they're not trying to recoup the cost of their new ride they're trying to pay it forward. Source(s): Experience. You might be very imited for $300. An entry level mtn bike or simple hybrid. PK Call up CYCLEPATH ( 604-7372344) ---You'll find the Norco Scorcher or Mountaineer ( a bit priced higher at $369) very sweet. They have cruiser type of bikes at that price level. |
