What is a good commuter bike?


Typically I travel on paved roads but at times I have to go on gravel.

I have a Suzuki DR650 for this. Good on rough roads & gravel, high enough and more than maneuverable enough for city traffic. Strap a tailbag on the rear of the bike and you're all set.
a cheap one that isnt too slow for the highway would be a Suzuki GSF-500. Go to www.suzuki.com to look it over.
