After moving to Kentucky, I packed on almost 20 pounds. I used to live in Minneapolis where I was a massage therapist and was able to bike thanks to the Twin Cities awesome trail system. Then, I was hired as a teacher in Kentucky where there are NO healthy restaurants, the school serves deep-fried EVERYTHING, and I have to SIT in front of a computer or with students most of the day. Worst of all, the area I live in is insanely dangerous for pedestrians on the road, and they have NO bike trails. It sucks, and I am moving back to Minneapolis in 3 weeks. I plan on beginning my summer "boot camp" for fitness and want to know what foods I can consume that would aid in upping my metabolic rate to burn more calories when I work out. Thanks!
eat curry, spicy food, chilli. definitely will pump your blood, carbs is the best Don't listen to that idiot below...carbs are not the best......I feel your pain about Kentucky....people in the South eat the worst food. I recently spent some time in Tennesee and it was the most disguisting sight ever (their menus!) (I went to a grocery store in which the store manager didn't even know what hummus was!?!?!?WTF!!!!!!!!) I would suggest moving back to the North and eating lots of peppers, lentils, veggies, and green tea....
