'07 Suzuki DR650SE; Larger gas tank ? |
Just purchased an '07 Suzuki DR650SE and I can't believe how much pure enjoyment I'm getting exploring on this bike since I haven't done any off-road riding in 40+ years ! However, the small gas tank has got to go.. 50% of the time by the time I get to where I want to ride off-road, 1/2 to 3/4 of a tank is gone.. So far I have found larger tanks for nearly every Suzuki dirt bike ever made, EXCEPT THE DR650 which is more likely than any other model to be ridden longer distances due to its' on/off road design.. Just doesn't make sense to me, a long range bike with no range ! Please, someone whos' actually purchased one, or knows someone who has, tell me there's a company out there that makes a bigger tank for this machine and any other info. related.. Thanks in advance.. The links below are for Clarke & IMS, both of which list fuel tanks available for the DR650, but not the '07, or the SE. I'm not aware of any changes made made between '06 and '07, or if the SE designation will change the way the fuel tank mounts, ect. If you call either or both companies and talk to thier tech dept, you might get some good info as to fitment from them. As for aftermarket products and options for dual sports you have to keep in mind that the dual sport segment of the industry is one of the, if not the smallest segment we have. The overall sales numbers of the factory built dual sport units hasn't supported a lot of involvment at this point in time.
