What happens when? |
a dirt bike is ridden on pave roads, or concrete? It's pretty hard on the knobbies, aside from that , a ticket is a possibilty. it just tears up your tires quickly The knobbie tires will wear out fast, and it will not handle well because knobbies are designed for dirt -- not pavement. Also, it's illegal. On concrete it may tear off, but not on the Paved roads. its a bit of a rough ride since the pavement or concrete doesn't have any give to it, so the knobby tires transfer their bumpyness to the bikes suspension and possibly to the rider. the rubber of dirt bikes tires is generally a much softer compound and will wear much faster on the harder surfaces, and even tear the knobs off. likewise, you won't have the traction since knobbies are designed to grip the dirt/ground where a street tire is designed specifially for pavement/concrete with more surface area touching the ground. likewise, without proper equipment converting a dirt bike to be street legal, you can potentially get a ticket for riding on paved roads... At freeway speeds your bike will shimmy unpleasantly on the rain grooves. Avoid. |
