Is this how things happen? |
Today I was riding my bike, just for fun. There was a cable hanging over the street, it was hanging too low. At the last moment I saw that cable, I ducked. I was lucky to see it, or else my head would have been cut off. When I visit this section and read the answers, do I really have to assume the following events happened? 1) the Devil woke up bored this morning, and hung a cable above some street 2) the Devil sat in his chair, waiting for me to pass that road 3) God woke up, he saw me riding the bike and called some angels 4) Angels landed on my shoulder, and moved my eyes towards the cable 5) Angels pressed on my back, to make me duck 6) The Devil is defeated again by a loving God. Yay! Is that really how things happen? No. What happened is that you possess a learned and/or genetic predisposition to be observant of danger in your surroundings. That is what saved you. Your ancestors probably descended from a line of very clever, observant ape-like mammals. You should thank your parents (or whomever raised you) for the good genes and lessons, and do whatever you can to have more intelligent, observant children and pass these attributes on. Haha, I like that! Yes, that is definitely how things happen, unless you are an atheist. But still, would it have honestly cut your head off? Yes I do believe it is haha i never thought of things like that but im intrested!
